Frequently Asked Questions

What do the meetings cover?

Our meetings range from topics covering a variety of photography styles such as nature, film, astrophotography, as well as member and officer photography showcases and guest speakers.

Do I have to own a camera?

No! A camera is not required to join or attend any events. Any meetings or events we host that may need a camera will have plenty of notice and not required. As a club we have a Sony a6500 you can check out, and some officers have extra cameras we are willing to lend. Additionally, all TAMU students can rent cameras for free from the Evans Library Annex Tech Center!

Do I have to take pictures?

No! We will not force you to do anything. What you put into this organization is what you get out of it.

Do I need a car to drive to events?

No! A car is not required for any Photo Club events. All meetings take place at Rudder 701. Any excursions (day trips) we plan, will include carpooling for those without cars.

Are there any fees/dues?

We offer members either a year-long or semester-long due to participate in any activities we may provide in Texas A&M Photography Club. Included with dues are t-shirts, out-of-town excursion costs (gas, tickets, meals, etc.), and meetings.

I'm interested in film, is there anyone who can help me learn more or develop film?

Yes! We have some resident film experts who are always happy to help. Additionally, some of our members develop film and can do so for you as well!
